Why do mosquito bites itch?

Mosquito Bites

When a mosquito bites, it pierces its proboscis into your skin and sucks blood, at the same time it leaves its saliva there below your skin. This saliva contains blood coagulating agent and to overcome this your immune system releases histamine.

As a result of this auto immune response system, the area around mosquito bites becomes red and swells into a bump. This histamine so released within our body, causes increased blood flow and causes inflammation around the bite which causes excessive itching sensation.

Kill mosquito larvae before they become a problem

Mosquito Larvae

Mosquito infestations should be dealt at source. If mosquito breeding is allowed than its very difficult to catch or kill the adult ones in open. Its very important to kill mosquito larvae which requires minimal efforts and control. This shortens the lifespan of mosquitoes and reduces transmission of diseases to a great extent.

The mosquito lifecycle consists of 4 stages – eggs, larva pupa, and adult. Controlling mosquito infestation and killing mosquito larvae are far better options than using mosquito repellents or traps.
